Steam hose is widely used in chemical industry, electrical, aerospace, petroleum and other fields. But most people don’t know much about it. What is it for and what kinds of it are there? Let’s analyze next.
What is steam hose
Steam hose is also known as steam rubber hose. It often serves in cooling, engine hot and cold water, food process, especially in dairy plants. The structure of such hose is similar to that of general industrial hose. It also consists of three parts: inner rubber, middle layer and out cover.
Classification of steam hose
1. Cloth steam hose
Cloth steam hose is more suitable for steam or hot water transfer. While the temp can be higher than 150℃. The rubber layer has very good heat resistance. Besides, the burst pressure can not be lower than 10 times of the work pressure.
2. Armored cloth steam hose
Same as the cloth steam hose, it’s also to transfer saturated steam or heated water. But the cover is wound with galvanized metal wires. This method can increase the strength of its pipe body. Then improve the pressure bearing capacity of the steam hose. This kind of rubber hose often serves in complex conditions. But it requires higher on safety.
3. PTFE steam hose
PTFE steam hose widely works in economic fields such as electronics, aerospace and petrol. It has high strength without mechanical impurity. It also has very stable chemical property. Besides, it has excellent sealing, insulation and very good anti-aging. This hose can be different shapes, such as O-type, S-type and others.
4. Stainless steel pressure resistant metal hose
This kind of hose has corrosion and high temp resistance. Besides, it’s light weight, small size, and flexible. Thus it often serves in various fields such as aviation, petroleum and transport.
5. Silicone steam hose
This kind of hose has cold and high temp resistance. Besides, it’s non-toxic and odourless. It also has strong moisture and pressure resistance. Thus it’s good to transport liquid flow.
