Twin welding hose is a combination of two hoses. One is oxygen hose, while another one is acetylene hose. The hose is mainly used in welding machine, civil building and painting factory. You may see twin welding hose has different colors like blue, green, black and read. But how to distinguish which one is for oxygen and which one is for acetylene? In fact, the red hose is usually acetylene hose, while other colors are oxygen hose.
Why the acetylene hose is red?
The red color is more striking. Acetylene is an inflammable gas, so we should be cautious when dealing with it. With the bright color red, you can see it obviously even in a long distance. In another hand, red is the color that mark some dangerous things. Therefore, the red color plays a roll in warning.
Security matters when use twin welding hose
1. Make sure there is not leakage in the hose and joint. Besides, clean the hose and guarantee there is no water inside it before use. Never blow out the obstruction in the acetylene hose with oxygen hose, because it may form the mixture of oxygen and acetylene.
2. If acetylene fail, burst or on fire in the use, you should shut down the gun first, then shut down the gas supply.
3. Keep your hose away from the oil and metal solvents.
4. Never exposure your hose in the sunlight and rain. Besides, prevent your hose from acid and alkali. Otherwise, the working life will be reduced.
