This piece will introduce rubber conditioner hoses to you. Do you know if we use the wrong type of rubber conditioner hose for the specific car refrigerant, it will cause the failure. If you want to know the difference between Type C and Type E rubber conditioner hoses, and use which one for which refrigerant, you can read following of the article.
First of all, let us distinguish the Type C and Type E rubber conditioner hoses from their construction. Conditioner Hose Type C has 5-layer construction. From the hose inner to the hose outer, the layers are CSM/IIR, nylon barrier, EPDM/CSM/IIR, PET/PVA braided reinforcement, and EPDM cover. And Conditioner Hose Type E has 4-layer construction. The difference is the conditioner hose Type E does not have the inner CSM/IIR layer.
Due to the inner layer of Conditioner hose Type E is the PA barrier, Type E conditioner hose can resist all these common types of refrigerant, including R404a, R134A, R12, 1234yf. However, Conditioner hose Type C cannot transport petroleum-grade lubricants, thus if the car use R404a and R12 refrigerant, we can not choose Type C conditioner hose.
Why Conditioner hose Type C cannot transport petroleum-grade lubricants? It is due to the inner layer is made of CSM/IIR, which can not undertake the petroleum-grade lubricants. If you chose wrong type ,the inner layer will be corroded.
