In the last piece, we leaned 2 factors when choose a peristaltic pump hose. One is certificate and the other one is chemical resistance. So next, let me introduce you some other factors to choose a proper hose.
Pressure
The app of peristaltic pump is limited by the pressure ability of the hose. If the pressure is too high, the hose will bulge and will not fit well with the pump head. Then it cause over wear and fail earlier. When the system pressure exceeds the tolerance range of the hose, it may even cause the hose burst. Then the fluid sprays out an cause danger.
The factors that affect the hose pressure are: material, ratio of diameter to wall thickness, etc. Different types of hoses have different pressure resistances. In fact, when you buy the hose, supplier will give a pressure range. So you should know the pressure in the pump system. Then choose the proper hose.
Temperature
The temp range is also one of the factors that you need to consider. Usually, the silicone tube can work at 40~200°C. Thus it meets most of the conditions. However, the max and the min temp are different for hoses. Thus you should first confirm the temp of your system. Then make sure it is within it that the hose can bear.
On the other hand, the corrosion resistance reduces with the temp increase. Thus you have to consider the temp effect to it. So when you make the soak test, you should simulate the real work condition.
