Second, If the situation allow you drive forward, never brake urgently. Because that will cause rollover in a high speed running. The correct methods is release the accelerator and pull up the hand brake in a even speed. Therefore the speed will down until stop.
Third, if it’s not allowed to drive straightly and the accident is unavailable, you should brake continuously. This will make the car stop in a shot time and reduce the stop distance. More important, it can reduce the impact strength.
Last, when doing above emergency measures, you should also give alert signal to other vehicles and pedestrians like honk.
