It is inevitable to encounter various problems when driving a car. For example, the hose of the engine radiator will age and easily break after long-term use. If the hose breaks during driving when the radiator is filled with water, the high temperature water splashing out will form a large mass of water vapor and spray out from under the engine cover. When this happens, you should immediately choose a safe place to stop the car, and then take emergency measures to solve it.
How to do if the water enters the radiator
Generally speaking, when the radiator is filled with water, the joint of the hose is most likely to crack and leak. At this time, you can use scissors to cut off the damaged part. Then reinsert the hose into the radiator water inlet joint and tighten it with a clip or wire. If the crack is in the middle of the hose, you can use tape to wrap the leaking crack. Wipe the hose clean before wrapping. After the leaking part is dry, wrap the tape around the leaking part of the hose. Since the water pressure in the hose is high when the engine is working, try to wrap the tape tightly. If you don’t have tape on hand, you can also wrap plastic paper around the crack first. Then cut the old cloth into strips and wrap it around the hose.
After above, the engine speed should not be too fast. Besides, it should be driven at a high gear as much as possible. Also pay attention to the pointer position of the water temperature gauge while driving. If the water temperature is found to be too high, stop the car to cool it down or add cooling water.
