Sand blasting pipe structure and common types

Sand blasting pipe is suitable for air pressure sandblasting and rust removal on metal surfaces. While it is ideal for both dry and wet sandblasting in pipeline system and machinery. Blasting hoses widely serves in ship building, machine process, sandblasting paint and many other industries.

Structure of sand blasting pipe

In general, the sandblaster hose has an inner layer, a reinforce layer and a cover. The inner and out layer are often natural rubber or synthetic rubber. Because it requires them are wear resistant. Then the reinforce layer is multi layers of fibre. But in some cases, the special work asks for a certain vacuum resistance. Then there can be steel wire as the reinforce layer. Therefore, blasting hoses can bear negative pressure.

Common types

Shot blasting pipe can be light duty and heavy duty according to working conditions and the degree of loss. Light duty sand blast hose is usually used in ship sand blasting and quicksand operations. While the inner rubber layer is commonly wear resistant natural rubber. Then the outer rubber is composite rubber. Special heavy duty blasting hose widely serves in equipment sandblasting, fine pebble, mud, etc. There is a steel wire inside the abrasive blasting hose. And the negative pressure resistance can be 0.9bar.
