How to choose the suitable hose fittings
In the previous article, I introduced three ways to connect rubber hose fittings. Now, I’ll walk you through the specific operating procedures.
Preparation Before Connecting Hose Joints
First, choose suitable hoses and fittings, ensuring they match in size and material. Next, clean the surfaces of both the hoses and joints thoroughly. Removing dirt and impurities guarantees a better connection.
Threaded Method Operation
Line up the threaded part of the hose with that of the connector. Then, turn the hose counterclockwise until it’s snug. Use a wrench to tighten it further, but be careful not to overtighten and cause damage.
Clamp Operation
Position the clamp at the joint where the hose meets the connector. Make sure the hose and connector fit completely inside the clamp. Secure the clamp with screws, applying just the right amount of pressure. Avoid using too much force.
Welding Method Operation
Start by cleaning the joint surfaces of the hoses and fittings to get rid of oxides and grime. Then, begin the welding process using the appropriate materials. During welding, ensure the area is heated evenly. Afterward, inspect the weld for any cracks or bubbles.
